The Regent Seven Seas Cruises team partnered with VIVA for the christening of luxury vessel, Seven Seas Splendor, in Miami, FL. The Regent team envisioned an elevated and elite star-studded event to match the new ship's extravagant amenities, sumptuous indulgences, and unmatched opulence.

VIVA demonstrated exceptional adaptability. Original plans featured a 1940s art-deco inspired outdoor stage, with champagne bars and live performances. As severe weather loomed, we were prepared to seamlessly move indoors to ship's main theater where we created an exquisite celebration.

Christie Brinkley Bestows the Traditional Maritime Blessing

Supermodel Christie Brinkley, Godmother to Seven Seas Splendor, delivered the traditional maritime blessing: “I hereby name this ship Seven Seas Splendor. May God bless her and all who sail on her.” She pressed a button, releasing a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne to smash against the ship's hull, marking the ship's addition to the fleet.

Private Concert by GRAMMY Award-winner, Seal

Four-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Seal capped the ceremony in an unforgettable finale. Guests enjoyed an intimate private performance that included Seal's chart-topping hits like "Kiss from a Rose" and "Crazy" plus covers of Frank Sinatra's "Luck Be a Lady" and "That's Life."

Momentous Speech by First Female Ship Captain

The ship is helmed by 30-year veteran Captain Serena Melani, the first woman to captain a newly built ocean cruise ship. In a momentous speech, she told the the audience that women can achieve any goal with perseverance and hard work, also recognizing her 550 crew members for delivering the highest levels of service.
