Traveling to a Private Island with Cutting-Edge VR Technology

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) needed an innovative way to transport journalists to their exclusive private island in the Bahamas—without requiring travel. They turned to VIVA for a cutting-edge Virtual Reality solution.

VIVA conceptualized and delivered an immersive digital vacation experience for Great Stirrup Cay, inviting audiences to explore the stunning 268-acre island within the Bahamian Berry Islands. The collaboration between VIVA and NCL involved meticulous planning to define goals and metrics for the bespoke virtual experience, highlight key features of the island, and design a captivating audienceĀ journey.

To create the VR 360 experience, VIVA's production and digital teams traveled on-location with state-of-the-art equipment, demonstrating exceptional coordination, dedication, and creativity. The team captured breathtaking 360-degree video, high-resolution still imagery, and dynamic footage expertly integrated into an interactive touchscreen display, producing a fully immersive virtual reality experience that surpassed expectations.

"I love working with Norwegian Cruise Line because they're so open toĀ innovative ideas and this was another excellent one in a long line of outstanding projects. Immersing the audience in the private island experience through virtual reality was really exciting and the beautiful Bahaman scenes play so well in a VR headset. And, it's hard work filming on a private island for three days, but someone's got to do it!"
