Case Study
Regent Splendor Christening
The Highest Expectations
Regent Seven Seas Cruises wanted to christen their newest luxury vessel, Seven Seas SplendorTM, in Miami in March 2020. Their new class of ship is the latest iteration of extreme luxury cruising and the Regent team had very specific demands for the extra special star-studded event. At every turn, the Seven Seas Splendor reveals extravagant amenities, sumptuous indulgences and unmatched opulence. To reflect the high level of luxury and detail within the new ship, the client requested that every surface and touchpoint of the christening event faithfully replicate the onboard experience.
Flexibility in the Forecast
For months, VIVA organized a meticulously prepared luxury outdoor event featuring an elegant 1940s-inspired art-deco stage with giant LED screens, as well as a red-carpet walk-in experience with champagne bars, intimate musical performances, and a live origami art installation. But in the hours just prior to the show, Miami officials warned of dangerously high winds and rain. VIVA producers and Regent executives made the difficult decision to relocate the entire event inside the ship. Within a few short hours, VIVA moved and ran the show in the ship’s main theater without a hitch. There, the ship was christened by the its Godmother, Christie Brinkley. To close the program, superstar performer Seal headlined the live concert.
Smooth Sailing with VIVA
In addition to the 700 in-person guests, the event was live-streamed on Facebook, YouTube and the Regent website. Despite the unexpected weather that forced the event inside, VIVA ensured that guests, celebrities, executives and luminaries were immersed in the same unforgettable thrill and luxury of Regent’s new Seven Seas Splendor.
